Where is your studio located?
My home-based studio is located in the northern suburbs of Lalor, it is a fully renovated studio.
Can you photograph me or baby in my home?
I only photograph in my professional home-based studio in Lalor as travelling with my equipment means less flexibility with prop choices and lighting. You receive a better end result from the photography being in a dedicated studio.
What do I need to bring to the session?
You don’t need to bring anything, however if you have something special, you’d like to be photographed that is sentimental, please discuss it ahead of time. Everything is usually setup and ready to go on the day of your session.
For maternity sessions, do you supply maternity dresses?
I have a variety of dresses that you’re welcome to wear, but you’re also welcome to bring outfits that you’d like to be photographed in. You can view our range of
Do you supply the props?
Yes. Depending on what package you choose you would either get a combination of setups and props or just a basic setup.
When should I book my newborn session?
As early as possible some women book the moment, they find out there pregnant. Generally, I would suggest at least months in advance as sessions book out quiet quickly and to avoid disappointment.
What if my baby arrives early/late?
We know babies don’t always arrive when predicted, once a deposit is paid to secure your date you won’t lose a spot on my calendar. At least we will have a starting point, that way if your baby comes earlier or later, I am able to leave enough room in case we have to reschedule during your birth month. It is important that you update me once baby is born.
How old does my newborn have to be?
Newborn sessions are best captured in the first two weeks of life, ideally the first 5-7 days. The sooner the better as newborns tend to be sleepy around this time and curl up in those sweet poses without discomfort due to their flexibility. After the two weeks those poses become difficult to accomplish as they become more alert and not as flexible to pose.
How long does the session last?
My newborn sessions last between 2-4 hours depending on the Collection you choose. This will allow us to take multiple breaks for us to feed and soothe your baby. For the younger children waiting patiently, I have a variety of toys sitting in a toy box to help keep them busy.
What do we expect once we arrive?
You will be welcomed into my garage where my professionally designed studio is with a gorgeous velvet comfy couch centred in the middle of the room waiting for you.
My main aim is for you to rest and be calm, I want you to feel at home and comfortable.
Once you arrive with baby, I will show you the colours and setups I have arranged based on our previous discussions feel free to help yourselves to some bottled water, tea, coffee and some cookies!
I would encourage you to bring snacks along as it can be a lengthy session!
Are families/siblings included in the newborn session?
I have different packages where some include family/sibling sessions and others are specified to newborn/baby only . It depends on what package you choose and what’s included.
If siblings are present please try to keep them calm during this time as a quiet atmosphere is very important in obtaining newborn photos.
Having someone to keep the siblings occupied is a must, as I generally keep the studio door closed to avoid disruption, and to keep the room toasty warm for the newborn.
It is recommended to have someone available to take the sibling home after they are finished. Newborn sessions are lengthy and siblings may get bored very quickly.
When do I get my photos?
Within two weeks after your session date you will receive an online gallery to choose your final images. There is a 4-6 week turn around including any printed products.
If given permission you may see a sneak peek of your session on my social media!
If you have any further questions about newborn or maternity sessions please reach out and we would be happy to answer them. Thank you again and looking forward to hearing from you soon!
